Matt Jacob

Account Executive / PR Specialist

Matt Jacob is an expert in brand storytelling, public affairs and crisis communications across a wide range of industries, including higher education, nonprofit, healthcare, consumer and technology. His more than two decades of successful experience strategically shapes narratives to meet clients’ goals and enhance community engagement. Having started his career at The Dallas Morning News, his journalist’s eye helps Matt lead Allyn Media clients Dallas College, Vista Bank and Metrocare Services in strategic internal and external communications to support their mission.

Volunteerism plays a significant role in Matt’s life outside of the office. A competitive tennis player since the age of 9, Matt passionately gives back to a sport that has given him so much. He is a member of the Management Committee of USTA Texas, has served on USTA national committees for more than 10 years and is a past president of the Dallas Tennis Association. Additionally, he is a longtime volunteer at The Storehouse of Collin County, represents District 12 on the Dallas Citizen Homelessness Commission and has served on numerous committees in Richardson ISD.

Matt earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Political Science from Southern Methodist University – where he also has served as an adjunct professor since 2014 – as well as a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He and his wife, Alison, live in Far North Dallas with their three children and two dogs. When he’s not on the tennis court, you likely can find Matt at an SMU sporting event – Pony Up! – enjoying a sushi date night at Oishi with his wife or cheering on his children at one of their tennis matches, club volleyball tournaments or drumming gigs.
