Allyn Media was tapped by the University of North Texas System to introduce and brand their new Dallas university to business, civic and philanthropic leaders in the North Texas region and around the country, and begin building enrollment for Dallas’ only public four-year university. UNT Dallas formed its first freshman class in the Fall of 2010.
Allyn Media conducted high-level, one-on-one influencer research with elected officials, business executives, and education leaders. We convened a Board of Visitors of local and national visionaries to build a network of leaders to define, support and advance UNT Dallas by and helping UNT Dallas leadership answer critical questions like “For what do we want to be known?,” “Who are we serving?,” and “What is the void in higher education we can fill?”
Through this work we helped create a mission for UNT Dallas as a four-year university accessible to Dallas’ most at-risk communities, that can educate and groom a new generation of professionals that will create generational change in southern Dallas. This branding is not only helping to increase student enrollment, but also build a donor-base of civic-minded leaders, locally and nationally, who support economic development and opportunity through education.
Today, UNT Dallas has over 3,000 students, a growing base of donors and university leadership is continuing to recruit members for their Foundation Board and various other boards on campus. The university has earned a reputation for innovative programs that create college graduates without incurring school debt. And the strategy has helped raise more than $8 million on foundation and donor funding for new programs and scholarships over the past two years.
- Continue to hone messages for donors and influencers that frame UNT Dallas as a resource for economic growth and opportunity, and a key part of the comprehensive strategy for sustainable growth in Southern Dallas.
- Create brands to draw students into key schools like the Emerging Teacher Institute or the School of Business, creating websites, videos, social media content and digital ads that promote the UNT Dallas experience.
- Use targeted earned media opportunities to promote successes and define unique selling points that will attract students, donors, and advocates that lift the University.
