Life School is a 20-plus year charter school district with 10 schools in North Texas. As a long-time partner with Life School, Allyn Media has served as trusted advisor and consultant concerning the district’s crisis communications, public relations and public affairs. In our crisis work for Life School we developed and maintain comprehensive crisis communications plans for all of the schools and central office and are on call 24/7 should an emergency arise. Among the many crises we have helped guide the school district through are a death on campus, off-campus student shootings, tough situations with former teachers and current parents, police matters, charter school issues in the news, cyber bullying, and dealing with a high-profile campus neighbor. Our crisis team has undergone active shooter training so we are prepared in the event the unimaginable happens. We also promote the positive things happening at Life School by developing and implementing an annual Public Relations calendar of potential media pitches and stories. Because charter schools are often a hot button in the Texas legislature and locally with city councils, we also advise on public affairs issues for the school’s leadership and superintendent. In addition, we have created an annual magazine the school uses to promote the district and its students, teachers, parents and programs.
