Allyn Media began working with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma in developing a comprehensive Crisis Communications plan for its casinos and resorts in 2018. The plan included several months of stakeholder research and collaboration with key leadership to develop an understanding of potential issues and the overall landscape of Choctaw’s business structure. Research included focus groups and one-on-one interviews. As an outcome of this research our deliverables included an overarching Guiding Principles document, a Media Policy, a Social Media and Digital Policy, plus a far-reaching Crisis Communications Manual that included a variety of responses for both large- and small-scale crisis events. Allyn Media also helped identify and provide media training for key spokespersons. Combined, all of these items ensured Choctaw was prepared if or when a crisis occurred.
Following our work on the casino and resorts crisis plan, Choctaw hired us to continue working with the casino and resort properties on daily crisis communications management and public relations planning and implementation. In addition, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma’s Government Headquarters also hired us to develop both a crisis and a PR plan for the entire Choctaw Nation located in Southeast Oklahoma.
As part of this work, Allyn Media:
-
Developed a marketing and PR strategy to drive patrons to Choctaw Nation Cultural Center, a 98,000 square foot museum featuring two exhibit halls, an art gallery, auditorium, children’s area, classrooms, offices, gift shop and café.
-
Consulted on a plan to reach audiences outside of Oklahoma including students and seniors in North Texas that would drive them to the new Cultural Center.
-
Developed and implemented PR plans for the kick-off of a multi-million dollar hotel expansion project for the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant which is set to open in 2020.
-
Consulted on business continuity ideas for existing entertainment venues at existing resort property in Durant during construction and road closures.
-
Wrote messaging and provided counsel for ongoing crisis situations for both the casino properties and all of Choctaw Nation.
